A Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification demonstrates advanced skill in process optimization, cost management, and network design. Certified professionals are qualified to lead global supply chain transformation initiatives, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure alignment between logistics, procurement, and production operations.
Master Black Belts apply Six Sigma analytics to track performance indicators such as lead time, supplier reliability, and transportation cost. They create data-driven systems that improve forecasting accuracy, enhance inventory control, and strengthen coordination between suppliers and distribution centers.
Master Black Belts mentor supply chain managers and analysts on how to apply Six Sigma tools to real-world challenges. They provide leadership in project selection, data analysis, and process control, ensuring that continuous improvement efforts align with corporate and customer objectives.
Students can complete either a live or hypothetical project. Live projects may involve supplier performance improvement, transportation optimization, or demand forecasting, while hypothetical projects allow students to simulate similar improvements.
Projects are evaluated by a resident Master Black Belt based on project planning, analysis accuracy, and control measures. Candidates can revise and resubmit if needed until full proficiency is demonstrated. The project must show mastery of the DMAIC process and the ability to deliver measurable performance gains in supply chain operations.
Our certifications have no expiration date. We strongly feel that certifications that require “renewals” only serve to increase the profits of the certification providers instead of benefiting the individual. Or put another way, a Master’s Degree in Business does not expire, so why would your professional certification?
Candidates who would like to obtain a more recent certification date can always resit for the certification exam at any time, often for less than a provider would charge for a renewal.
