Lean Six Sigma has quickly earned a lot of recognition for the impact it can make not only on business organizations worldwide, but also on the careers of those who have obtained their Lean Six Sigma Certification.  Below we discuss the top 5 reasons individuals choose this type of training and certification.

1. Higher Salary

Let’s start with the obvious… money.  The best way to increase your earning potential is to stand out from the crowd.  Nothing does that quicker and for as little cost as a Lean Six Sigma Certification.  Not only because it is widely versatile across practically any industry, but also because employers know that your knowledge will very likely make a significant impact on their profits.  It’s no wonder they reward employees who are Lean Six Sigma Certified so well.  The following average salaries in the U.S. speak for themselves (similar results seen worldwide):

  • Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belts can earn an average annual salary of $130,878
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belts can earn an average annual salary of $104,974
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belts can earn an average of $90,727
*Salaries can vary based on location, experience, education, employer, etc.

2. Career Advancement

We’ve seen it time and time again; individuals with their MBA’s or other advanced degrees unable to even get their foot in the door of their desired industry.  Once certified in Lean Six Sigma, their luck changes overnight.  As many companies have begun implementing Lean Six Sigma methodologies, we have seen a dramatic impact on whether or not someone lands their dream job.  Employers are eager to eliminate business errors, but there are simply not enough certified professionals to meet the enormous worldwide demand.  Once HR sees a Lean Six Sigma qualification, the candidate commonly goes to the top of the resume stack.

3. Job Security

Rule #1 in acquiring job security is “make yourself indispensable to your employer”.  The purpose of Lean Six Sigma is to reduce defects in a process.  When companies face layoffs, they depend on their Lean Six Sigma force more – not less.  These employees are an organization’s front line in raising profits through cost saving initiatives.  If the downturn is national or global, prospective opportunities and salaries can become even better as the competition between organizations for experienced Lean Six Sigma professionals heats up.

4. Help Your Organization Eliminate Errors

Lean Six Sigma Methodologies can transform an organization by identifying and eliminating errors that would have otherwise created poor customer satisfaction and profit losses to the business.  A Certified Lean Six Sigma professional can help across any industry to optimize any process or system leading to both hard and soft savings.

5. Leadership Opportunities

When you are capable of making a significant impact across your organization as well as being viewed as an indispensable asset to your organization, it goes without saying that leadership opportunities will become extremely common.  In fact, the  more you advance your Lean Six Sigma skill set, the more opportunities will present themselves.

A Yellow Belt typically has a basic knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, but does not lead projects on their own. They are often responsible for the development of process maps to support Lean Six Sigma implementation. A Yellow Belt participates as a core team member or subject matter expert (SME) on a project or projects. In addition, Yellow Belts may often be responsible for running smaller process improvement projects using the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) methodology. PDCA, often referred to as the Deming Wheel, enables Yellow Belts to identify processes that could benefit from improvement. These smaller Yellow Belt projects often get escalated to the Green Belt or Black Belt level where a DMAIC methodology is used to maximize cost savings using Statistical Process Control.

The Yellow Belt gathers data, participates in problem-solving exercises and adds their personal experiences to the exploration process. Not only do Yellow Belts gain the skills necessary to identify, monitor and control profit-eating practices in their own processes, but they are also prepared to feed that information to Black Belts and Green Belts working on larger system projects.

Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt training provides an introduction to process management and the basic tools of Lean Six Sigma, giving employees a stronger understanding of processes, enabling each individual to provide meaningful assistance in achieving the organization’s overall objectives. Our Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification also improves:

  • The effectiveness of employees in their support role of Six Sigma
  • Personnel buy-in of Six Sigma
  • Day-to-day workplace activities (resulting in a reduction of cycle times, improved quality, and less waste)

Why Over 6 Million People Have Come to See What We Offer

As one of the most established and longest running providers in the industry for online Six Sigma Training & Certification, we have had millions of people just like you weighing our training against the competition.  Here are just a few reasons why many prospective training candidates who have performed their due-diligence have chosen to trust us with their educational needs.

Fully Accredited

Not only is our organization accredited by The Council for Six Sigma Certification (the largest industry accreditation provider to colleges, universities, and private training organizations worldwide), but we also share some of the same original founders.  This speaks volumes to our heritage and our underlying commitment to quality education and consumer value. Many providers come and go, but we have remained a trusted industry pioneer.

Six Sigma Online was among the very first to offer online-based Six Sigma training and certification. Over 150,000 certified graduates from the Americas to Asia to the Middle East have trusted our accredited programs to enhance their careers.

Our clients range from multi-national corporations like Coca-Cola and BP to Government Organizations like the US Department of Defense.

Find out why we are the trusted choice today!

Unlike many Six Sigma Certification providers, we never put an expiration date on your certification.

Many providers require renewals not so much to benefit their certified students, but instead to increase their own revenues.

This can be extremely lucrative for them as they force you to pay extra exorbitant costs over the course of your entire career.  Even worse, these costs are often hidden the details of the expiration in fine print.  It is not uncommon for a student to be shocked with this information only AFTER they have earned their achievement and see their final certificate.

Think about it… does a college degree come with an expiration date?  Neither should your Six Sigma Certification.

Rest assured that our training is well recognized in the business community and we take the needs of employers very seriously. Many other training providers certify their students without a serious attempt of teaching thorough and lasting fundamentals of Six Sigma business methodologies. Our programs were designed to offer the most flexibility while still retaining a rigorous course-load. Every Six Sigma course offered by the Aveta Business Institute is self-paced.

Our programs have been used throughout the world by some of the largest companies… our certifications are very well respected. Below is a short list of Six Sigma business clients that have benefited from having their employees enrolled into our online program:

  • Apple
  • Google
  • Microsoft
  • Facebook
  • Amazon
  • Coca-Cola
  • Samsung
  • Disney
  • State/Federal Government Agencies

Your life can become unexpectedly busy and stressful… we aren’t looking to make things even worse by imposing unrealistic deadlines.

Since our courses are designed for individuals whose schedule demands a self-paced approach, you decide when to take your exams.  There is no “set” scheduled online class time (or date).  Our courses were designed to fit around your busy lifestyle.

Our students have 12 months from the time of payment to complete all of their certification requirements.  However, even if you require more than 1 year to complete your program, course extensions can be requested at any time before your deadline from Customer Care (free of charge).

We offer the same quality Six Sigma training you will find at many top universities.

However, many of these leading collegiate training providers have a problem.  They offer both classroom-based and online-based programs.

Classroom-based training is much more expensive for these providers since they have to pay for facilities, full-time instructors, travel costs, etc.  When asked to justify the higher price, their only real justification is that since an instructor speaks to an entire class, you would have learned significantly more than if you would have read the same material yourself (even though U.S. Department of Defense studies have shown that online training proved to be more effective in courses of greater complexity than classroom-based instructor-led training).

Let us not also forget that in a classroom environment, students are rushed through their programs (and often not given a chance to absorb the material) due to strict time constraints.  Most importantly, students are not provided a way to easily reference the material later (it is only natural that students will forget pieces of what they have learned as time goes on).

This reasoning makes learning Six Sigma in an online environment HIGHLY preferable to classroom-based training.

In a perfect world, this shouldn’t matter since many respected colleges and universities also offer online courses.  Often, these colleges and universities keep their online prices inflated to help subsidize their classroom-based programs.  This is why you will see our same program sold for double or triple the price elsewhere.

We would much rather keep our prices honest and pass the savings directly to you.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Our Yellow Belt Certification is typically ideal for individuals that will not play an active role in Six Sigma implementation; it teaches the basic fundamentals of the Six Sigma methodology. Yellow Belt Certification serves as excellent overview of the important relationship between a solid quality process and its effect on the organization’s profitability.

Employees who will be expected to use Six Sigma on a daily basis should enroll into the Green Belt Program. Those wishing to manage the efforts of the Green Belts and/or use more in-depth statistical approaches to solve problems and achieve results are encouraged to enroll directly into the Black Belt Program.

In terms of employment opportunities, Black Belt Certification is the most ideal, as holding this title means that you are not only knowledgeable in Six Sigma, but also that you can lead Six Sigma efforts within an organization. All of the material from the Yellow Belt and Green Belt Programs are included in the Black Belt Program. Any student wishing to enroll directly into the Black Belt Program is encouraged to do so.

Lean Six Sigma training, put simply, means a program includes “lean” principles woven into the Six Sigma Curriculum. Most (if not all) Six Sigma programs are actually identical to their “Lean” Six Sigma counterparts.

The primary reason for this widespread misunderstanding is because although Six Sigma began decades ago, it only became a household name when the military began implementing ‘lean’ principles. Since the military referred to it as “Lean Six Sigma”, it seems to have caused confusion ever since.

To accommodate both employers and employees alike, we offer both varieties in our curriculum of training courses.

If you are unsure which to choose, we typically recommend “Six Sigma” for most people. We recommend “Lean Six Sigma” for training candidates who work in the public sector or armed forces.

You have 12 months from the time of payment to complete all of your exams and project (if applicable). However, please note that our students are not pressured to finish their program. Even if you require more than 1 year to complete your program, course extensions are always available before the deadline and upon request from Customer Care (free of charge).

The average (working professional) student takes between 3-8 weeks to complete our Yellow Belt Certification Program, 2-3 months to complete our Green Belt Certification Program, and approximately 6-8 months to complete the Black Belt Program. Please remember that these are very rough estimates and the time required varies greatly between individuals. Our typical students spend a few hours per week working towards their certification on average. We have had many students complete their Black Belt Certification within 1 month.

Reviews & Testimonials:

Originally developed by Bill Smith at Motorola in 1986, the Six Sigma Training program was created using some of the most innovative quality improvement methods from the preceding six decades. The term "Six Sigma" is derived from a field of statistics known as process capability. The term 6 Sigma refers to the ability of manufacturing processes to produce a very high proportion of output within specification. Processes that operate with "six sigma quality" over the short term are assumed to produce long-term defect levels below 3.4 defects per million opportunities. Six Sigma's goal is to improve overall processes to that level of quality or better.
