The Secrets of Business Innovation

This article is concerned with discussing the many opportunities for business innovation, the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, as well as describing how creativity in corporations can be developed in people at a young age through business classes and camps.

Upon first hearing the word business, people with creative minds may immediately shut down, subconsciously deducing that it is a dry subject of study not worth their time and attention.  The opposite is true. Probably most people who took a business class or went into camps with an open mind, emerged enlightened and inspired. A good class places the highest emphasis on originality and innovation.

Innovation in industry sinks in well when it is cultivated at a young age. Some high school business classes divide the students into teams of ten or twelve people and then arrange piles of garbage on tables and have each team member choose one piece from the tables. When all the teams have their parts, they build a product with their parts. They have fifteen minutes to build the product, come up with a name for it, and have an explanation for what their product does to present to the staff. This encourages teamwork and quick thinking skills, among other things.

Later in the week, each team has plenty of time to formulate a slogan, a vision and mission statement, as well as alter and perfect their product and its description. This gives each person the opportunity to have a job and a part in the overall project, and affords a great prospect for inventiveness.

Later the team will divide itself, forming sub-groups that work on filming an infomercial to market their product, another group will prepare for a trade show with slides, posters and other equipment, and still another group will market the product directly to companies. In this sort of setting, teamwork is vital for success; as it is in the real world. It is a fact that without a dynamic team, very little will get done. Each team member must pull their own weight or they drag everyone else down with them.

Without creativity, a business just cannot survive, because originality is what brings new products to life. Even if some of them fail, coming up with new products much more often is what makes a company so successful. The degree of resourcefulness in an industry determines the future of that corporation.

Thus a company can never have too much creativity. People in leadership roles must not be afraid of taking risks when necessary. They must have good problem-solving skills, be able to generate a lot of ideas, and have an unfailing belief in their own strengths and originality. They must not be swayed by peer pressure, but also be willing to listen to the pros and cons of their potential idea. It is crucial that they display wise judgment, being able to make quick yet not rash decisions. Probably one of the most important things is to have an unconquerable imagination, and yet be very practical and down to earth.

Creative traits are imperative for an innovative firm, as well as how business camps nurture the skills needed to be successful entrepreneurs while still young. The importance of inventiveness is also important, as creativity is imperative for every successful company.
