When Six Sigma Projects don’t work, there is a lot that you can do to change the situation. Generally, there are three basic reasons that Six Sigma doesn’t work for a business, and they can all be changed so that the most effective and successful results can be achieved every single time with Six Sigma Projects. Here are the three reasons why Six Sigma can fail and what you can do to change them for the better.
-Lack of support. If the vested parties within a company don’t all agree with and accept the changes that are being made, Six Sigma Projects have a high failure rate. This is where it is important for you to use change management techniques to ensure that everyone is on board and accepting of the changes being made before you get started so that you can make the most of your Six Sigma Projects every single time.
-Misuse. When companies jump right to Six Sigma as their problem solving process and don’t evaluate the problems to determine that they actually can benefit from Six Sigma, there is almost always going to be an issue. Six Sigma won’t work as a solution to everything. Learning what the problem is and whether or not it can benefit from this process is the first step to making sure that Six Sigma Projects are effective for your business.
-Lack of training. Professional Six Sigma Training is necessary for success. It doesn’t matter how many articles, case studies, or practical examples you read up on before you embark on a Six Sigma Process. You need to have the proper training and experience in order to make Six Sigma effective. You can only get so far by using other people’s examples as your means for process improvement. If you truly want to be successful with Six Sigma, you need to get proper Six Sigma Training.
These are the three most common roadblocks for effective Six Sigma Projects. By taking the time to prepare yourself, you can avoid these things and keep them from happening to you in any situation. All that you need to do is to get the right Six Sigma Training and then employ that training on processes that can actually benefit from a Six Sigma Process. This includes working with change management to eliminate resistance and creating effective Six Sigma Projects that will work based on the information that you have.
