A Six Sigma Green Belt is a certification that employees or one person can earn through Six Sigma courses.  This type of training offers you the knowledge to skillfully see how to make improvements throughout a company, and even methodologies on team building and leadership.  As a Green Belt in Six Sigma you will have already taken prior Six Sigma Yellow Belt training, teaching you the basics.  A Green Belt is the worker bee within an organization.  This person is not management but they are a leader who learns about working with people and is task oriented.

A Six Sigma Green Belt learns how to choose the right projects for teams, departments, or an organization as a whole.  This person will understand how to pick a project while thinking about the skills of individuals that might be performing the job.  He or she will know if the projects are feasible.  They will also know exactly how to choose projects in which the business can utilize its current resources so the job will cost as little out of pocket in expenses as possible.  Lean Six Sigma training is the best option if you have had experiences choosing projects that just weren’t financially smart.

Putting teams together can be tasking.  You cannot just point at a group of individuals and say get to work and figure it out.  A Six Sigma Green Belt is taught to look at each person’s individual skills and their ability so they can plan a project by tasking jobs accordingly.  When team members are tasked with something based on their personal skills they do a better job and they are more productive.  Six Sigma Green Belt training also teaches you how to match people together properly so there is as little friction as possible and how to get everyone motivated to perform their duties.
