Six Sigma Black Belt Certification Fundamentals
- Categorized in: Black Belt, Six Sigma Certification & Training
Six Sigma Black Belt certification has nothing to do with fighting hand to hand combat, though this is an analogy that can be used to describe the goings-on in boardrooms around the country today. All businesses are made up of people who are followers and leaders; Black Belt level training and certification is designed for managers who want to be able to lead their employees and departments to a new and prosperous level of quality.
The corporate world is one that is highly charged and driven; those individuals who undertake Six Sigma black belt training can acquire the skills and knowledge to quickly move up the career ladder. In fact, it is often the case that many of the best paying positions available across various sectors require candidates to hold this type of certification simply to be eligible to apply for the openings.
If you are frequently turned down for promotions, it may be because the other candidates had this qualification and you didn't. If you do not want to stagnate in the same position for most of your career, it is important to acquire the skills and training that will give you a competitive edge.
Before you can earn a black belt certification, you must master the strategy referred to as DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, and control). These dynamics are not just randomly chosen terms, they can be linked together to bring about noticeable changes in the way a business operates. Defining a problem that currently exists, measuring and analyzing data, improving processes, and controlling the systems, are all of value when trying to enhance a business' productivity and efficiency. Becoming a better manager requires an understanding of how to use available tools to the greatest effect.
Mastering DMAIC is essential. Without a thorough knowledge of this process, Six Sigma Certification would be impossible. Through DMAIC, you should be able to achieve goals and targets with the least amount of effort. Focusing on how to get from the beginning to the end of a new strategy is an important skill to develop. Being clear on objectives and formulating methods to improve efficiency may sound easy on paper, but in the real-world, it takes a considerable amount of skill and knowledge.
The Six Sigma training program varies based on training provider. It can be studied online or on a face to face basis.. Which medium is most desirable depends upon such factors as your own schedule, and in the way that you learn easiest.
Though the cost of training is not cheap, with a Six Sigma black belt certification, you will find that you become more adept at your job, and are given praise by senior management for the work that you do. The expense of the training is certainly a good investment when you consider exactly what is at stake, the benefits that are on offer can last an entire career and not just a few years.
