The Six Sigma methodology is adopted by most of the organizations that aim at overall quality improvement. But what is Six Sigma training? Six Sigma training uses a set of systematic theories that uses statistics as its basic approach in order to solve any complications or queries that may arise, especially the ones that the workers are not aware of.
Many organizations have heard about Six Sigma and successfully adopted it in their processes so as to eliminate any defects and bring about total improvement in the quality of products and services. However, when it comes to Lean Six Sigma, the process becomes somewhat different due to the ‘Lean’ process being introduced.
Although the word “Lean” in the phrase ‘Lean Six Sigma’ may appear to be a bit confusing, not to mention misleading, one should remember that it is not all that dissimilar from the standard Six Sigma strategy.
Well, the most obvious reason is that Six Sigma relies heavily on complex scientific theories and statistical concepts, things that employees in a business organization are generally unaware of. Something that makes Six Sigma training all the more necessary is the fact that such unawareness often extends all the way up to the middle and top management and is not necessarily restricted to the lower levels of the organizational hierarchy.
Six Sigma is a proven technique in maximizing the abilities of a company to improve their bottom line through the elimination of defects. Although the program has proven wildly successful in many different cases, other companies have tried to implement the Six Sigma system with results that can best be described as mixed. A large part of the “mixed” (and you can read that as ‘negative’!) results can be attributed to an improper implementation of the Six Sigma process.
