Team Motivation + Six Sigma Training = Better Results
Six Sigma training incorporates motivation at all levels and phases of employee motivation programs. This ensures management buy-in for the program and delivers better end-results for the business.

Team Building

One among the number of steps fostering passion and motivation and effectively work to make all programs successful is team building. Effective team building complements employee motivation. Successful team building will see a gradual growth in motivation with tangible results in achievement of organizational objectives.

To be successful and effective, all team building efforts have to be aligned with the organization’s strategic plan. An increase in employee motivation can be observed when employees are practically engaged on work-related real issues of the organization.

Under Six Sigma projects, employee motivation and team building elements are directed at improvement of organizational issues that are well defined eliminating gray areas.

Team building speeds up and reaches higher levels when everyone enjoys the work being done. It is a tool to enhance employee motivation. Understanding each other is also very important. When each team member understands how others are motivated, it provides them with an opportunity to add synergy to the team.

The process of team building takes effect in phases. It is essential for leadership to recognize this fact and confidently go ahead with team building even - if they observe a decline in employee motivation during any phase.  They should accept this as normal, which it really is, and move towards building an excellent team for world-class performance.

Motivating Employees Through Empowerment

One of the most important factors that contributes to employee motivation is employee empowerment. This goes a long way in developing employee motivation. All businesses and work processes require people to make decisions to do what is correct. For employees to act appropriately, motivation is essential.

Employee motivation is a natural offshoot of employee empowerment. Upper management has a crucial role to play here. It is well-proven that employee empowerment levels are commensurate to levels actively supported and cultivated by management.

If management wants to increase the levels of employee motivation, it is necessary for them to first increase employee empowerment levels, without which the motivation level will never increase.

Thus, an adequately tailored Six Sigma training program, starting with executive leadership moving on to managerial and then supervisory training, is something that cannot be ignored. If an employee motivation program is to be successful, it is essential that leaders, managers and supervisors alike have an in-depth understanding of employee motivation and team building.

In pursuing a program aimed at team building and employee motivation, there may also be a need to provide Six Sigma training to employees in the areas of problem solving and personal leadership.
